St Christopher's Fellowship v Walter-Ennis - race discrimination
A claim for direct race discrimination will not be upheld where the alleged discriminatory act of the employer is substantially similar to another act by the employer that has been found to be non-discriminatory. Mrs Walters-Ennis is black African Caribbean. She ran a fostering business that was acquired in 2006 by St.Christopher's Fellowship, a children's charity that also acts as a housing association for children and vulnerable adults. After the takeover, Mrs Walters-Ennis continued as manager of the fostering department.
