8 cases concerning discrimination between widows and widowers on grounds of gender regarding social security benefits against United Kingdom
The United Kingdom Social Security authorities refused to pay certain male widower applicants widowed mother’s allowance and widow’s payment under sections 37 and 36 of the UK’s Social Security and Benefits Act 1992. These benefits were available to female widows in a similar situation.
