Wilkinson v the United Kingdom

Under a policy reversed in 2001, Adrian Wilkinson was refused Widow's Bereavement Tax Allowance (WBA) because he was a man. Like many others, he claimed before the ECtHR that this amounted to sex discrimination.

His claim has now been dismissed by the court upon settlement, concluded with the UK government, for €600.

A similar outcomes was achieved in Blach v United Kingdom.
