Angelidaki & Others - national law must ensure that purpose of Fixed-term Workers Directive is achieved

There is a conflict within the Greek legal system between the Fixed-term work Directive 1999/70/EC and the fact that the Greek Constitution prohibits the conversion of fixed-term employment contracts into permanent employment relationships within the public sector. Test cases challenging this have been referred to the ECJ.

Advocate General Kokot has now given his opinion on the matter.
