National Pensions Office v Jonkmann/Vercheval/Permesaen - ECJ cases C-231/232/233/06 on 21.6.07
Under changes made to the relevant Belgian pension rules, female cabin staff working for the Sabena airline became eligible for the same pension benefits as male cabin crew. Previously air stewards had had greater benefits than air stewardesses but had had to pay higher contributions. A condition of equalising the benefits was that women who wished to upgrade their pensions should pay retrospective additional contributions.
