Greenland v GX Networks Ltd - employer's failure to set targets high enough was not "exceptional circumstances" to allow it to cap commission paid

An employer's contractual entitlement to cap the commission it pays "by exception only" is a discretion which can only be exercised "in exceptional circumstances. Neither the failure to set an employee's targets high enough, nor the subsequent wish not to pay the high level of commission they accordingly earned, comprised such "exceptional circumstances".
