United States of America v Nolan - public bodies and the Collective Redundancies Directive
The European Court cannot give a ruling on the effect of the Collective Redundancies Directive where one of the parties is an establishment governed by public law (eg a US Army base in the UK): such bodies are expressly excluded from the Directive, albeit UK domestic law applies to them.
