Gulamhussein & Tariq v United Kingdom - national security and closed cases: questions to parties
This is a long running and controversial case involving national security and whether employment tribunal proceedings can be conducted using a "closed material procedure". Mr Tariq claimed that he could not have a fair trial without knowing the evidence against him, but the Court of Appeal and then the Supreme Court believed otherwise. Indeed the Supreme Court considered that a trial might still be fair without even the "gist" of the evidence being disclosed.
