The High Court has awarded the agreed sum of £230,000 to a lorry driver employed by Ansteys, a small haulage firm in Bristol in the 1960's and early 1970's. The Asbestos Regulations 1969 came into force on 14th May 1970 and it was common ground between the parties that if exposure to asbestos occurred after that date, while Mr Maggs was in the employment of Ansteys, then liability would attach to Ansteys.
