In this case the High Court exercised its 'draconian' power to strike out three separate actions, for breach of contract, libel and breach of statutory duty, brought by Mr Bezant and his wife, who had previously been employed for over 20 years as farm/estate manager by companies administered by Dr Rausing, the well known Swedish industrialist. The Bezants had launched a 'multiplicity' of proceedings in connection with their dismissal. The Court could find no merit in any of the claims and struck out them all out as constituting an abuse of process.
