Allied Distillers Ltd v Handley & ors - Tribunal has no power to make an award which a party says he does not seek [2008] EAT

An employment tribunal cannot competently make an award which a party specifically states he does not seek.

In July 2005 Chivas Brothers Ltd acquired a controlling interest in Allied Distillers Ltd.  Both companies bottled and sold spirits. The three claimants in this case all worked for Allied Distillers.  Chivas had 3 employees engage in similar roles.
